    The 7th International Conference on Work With Computing Systems, formerly known as WWDU, will be held from 29 June to 2 July, 2004 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, on the exotic island of Borneo.   • Nordic Ergonomics Society 36th Annual Conference
    NES2004 Working Life Ethics
    Kolding, Denmark 16 - 18 August 2004

    The 36th Annual Conference, NES2004, will focus on the norms and ethics that influence the efforts to improve working life. Companies’ expectations of the individual are growing. This increasingly influences personal and domestic life.

    Regulation, consultancy and research in the areas of working life and working conditions are encompassing a growing part of our life. Keynote speakers will give presentations on the theme of ethics within the areas:
     

    • Ethics of science
    • Ethics of consultancy work
    • Ethics in the company
    • Ethics of working life.

    The conference invites you to contribute to the dialogue about all the elements within ergonomics, the development of working life and the endeavour for better working conditions. We invite you to join the dialogue about your research, your counselling, your development projects and your experiences within ergonomics.

    In addition we encourage consideration of ethical aspects on your topic in the discussion following your presentation, e.g.:

    • When do we interfere with personal freedom?
    • How will, can and should we contribute?
    • What is good and what is bad?
    • Where do we draw the limit?

  • 2nd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON WORK ABILITY
    “ASSESSMENT AND PROMOTION OF WORK ABILITY, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF AGEING WORKERS”
    18-20 October 2004, Verona, Italy

    The main topics of the Symposium are:
    1. Assessment of work ability in different occupations
    2. Factors affecting work ability and employability of older workers
    3. Promotion of health and work ability
    4. Evaluation of work-related problems of elderly workers


    Language: The official language of the conference is English. There will be no translation facilities.

    The next deadlines are:

    • May 15th, 2004: submission of abstracts.
    • June 15th, 2004: notification of abstract acceptance.
    • July 15th, 2004: early final registration.
    • September 15th, 2004: final programme.
